From the Dragons’ Den
‘If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands’, we sang at Little Dragons yesterday. We nodded our heads, stamped our feet, stood up, sat down, turned around and had a great time. It has just occurred to me that this morning’s ache in my knee could have been activated by all this activity. I will just have to make sure that I walk steadily up and down the stairs today, putting weight evenly and steadily on all weight-bearing limbs, as I grin and bear it.
With all the day-to-day worries that many are currently experiencing – energy crisis, rising food bills – and on – and on – and on – it isn’t always easy to remain steady and find something to smile about.
I can say with all honesty that Tuesday mornings spent in the company of these little people and their Carers – Mums, Dads, Grannies, Nanas and the occasional Grandad – is one of the best times in the week and always puts a smile on our faces.
I pay tribute to the Dragon Team – Frank, Marion E, Caroline, Pat, Marion W and Claire who give their time and energy weekly, despite the various traumas that life throws up. Also, thanks to the backstage boys – Paul and Ray who help to set up. Thanks Team; couldn’t do it without you.
Joy to everyone, from Val and from we three
George, Uncle Sam and Idris.
